I recently came across Homefitnessathletics.com and was impressed by their selection of sporting goods and services and I thought I would do a quick review of them on my blog. I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoyed shopping here.

What they do

Home Fitness Athletics offers a training center in Heredia Costa Rica for children and adults. They have a variety of classes such as:

  • Karate for children 4 to 12 years old – Thursdays from 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am
  • Karate for teenagers and adults (13 years and over) – Monday and Thursday from 7:00 pm
  • Cross Training (for ages 13 and over only) – Monday and Friday from 6:00 pm and Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 am
  • Athletics Club (for 8 years and over) – Saturays from 7:30am
  • Defence class (13 years and over) – Fridays from 7:00 pm

The classes

Sensei Gabriel Loaiza teaches the karate classes and has 5 years experience as an instructor and over 20 as a practitioner of karate. This teaches self discipline and functional self defense in a controlled environment, which is very useful for people of all ages. A lot of the principles of this can be transferred to other aspects of life.

Cross training is a great class that incorporates many different sporting aspects and these include gymnastics and functional movements, as well as physical, aerobic and mental strength. The classes tailor the exercises to each individual to get the best results, whilst avoiding injuries.

The athletics club is a great way to improve your fitness and is hosted at the running track of San Rafael de Heredia. Athletes are invited to join the other athletes in order to train hard and overcome their own personal goals, whilst maintaining a good level of communication with the coach. This will help the athlete to progress physically and mentally.

Other Products

Home Fitness Athletics also offers a range of quality sports footwear and other sports accessories and these include things like fitness balls, supplements, soccer balls and so much more. I was very impressed by the range of products that they have on the site.

Benefits

It is definitely great to see everything in the one place when it comes to fitness classes and if you are a family you can also benefit from having different classes under the one roof. It is even possible to attend classes with your children, which is a huge benefit.

One of the best things about Home Fitness Athletics is that you can be flexible and pay for 10 or 15 different lessons each month by paying a flat fee. You then have the flexibility to go to any class that you want to, as long as you stay within this limit. Enrolment is also free, so you only pay for what you use!

5 Reasons To Go On A Sports Tour
Jun201617

Going on a sports tour can be a truly enriching experience. Cricket tours and other sports can be a great opportunity to discover another country and build some lifelong memories. Here are some great reasons to get out on a sports tour.

They save time

Coordinating a lot of activities can be quite stress and very difficult for somebody that may not have the experience, let alone in a foreign country or place! When you go on a tour everything is organised for you, this includes things like meals, accommodation, transport and even games. Going on a tour ensures that you have a professionally run experience that will allow you to forget everything and simply enjoy the sport and foreign place.

They are cheaper

Sports tours are of course cheaper, when you have an experienced organisation you are also gaining access to much better pricing. These experts are dealing with accommodation providers, airlines, restaurants and many more people on a daily basis and can give you the best price. It would be much more expensive to book everything yourself.

You can stay together

One of the biggest advantages of a sport tour is that it is possible for you and your friends to stay together. Imagine booking plane tickets and then realising that only 8 people can go on a flight rather than 15. This makes it very hard to coordinate everything and will mean that you may need to book everything twice.

Better tickets

We talked about how connected sports tour providers are, they can also give you access to the best seats at sporting events. More often than not you and your friends will have your own designated seating area, so it is also possible to be all together and experience perhaps some of the best moments of your life together.

Experience your favourite sport in another country

Probably the best part of a sports tour is discovering sport in another country and the subtle differences compared to your own country. It is without any question that sport unites us all in one of the rawest and best ways possible, especially with mateship, sportsmanship and competition. In fact you may even learn something new from being on a sports tour!

What to cook on your tent stove

tent

Camping is one of the greatest activities that a person can participate in in their life. It is a special experience that few people ever forget, but what about preparing the food that you need for your journey? This is a tricky issue and it varies greatly from person to person because of different preferences. This article will talk more about selecting the right food to cook on your tent stove.

The first things to think about

There are four main things to think about with the food that you take camping with you and these are:

  • The stove type you have – this will determine the type of food you can cook, for example a small backpacking stove is not designed to cook a lot of food and is usually for boiling and simmering only.
  • Your transport – if you are travelling by foot, naturally you want to carry food that is going to save space and on weight. If you are taking a car or four wheel drive vehicle then it may be possible to carry a wider range of options
  • Storage options for food – for those travelling by car or other vehicle it may be possible to carry a cooler and this dramatically improves the number of foods you can carry.
  • The amount of space and time you are going for – if you have very little room it will be difficult to carry certain types of food and the length of time will determine how much food you bring.

Foods you can cook

Here are some of the things that you can cook:

  • Pasta and other grains – this is a universal choice for all types of outdoor enthusiasts, because it is easy to store and cook.
  • Meat – a good choice but it is hard to cook with smaller stoves and it has to be stored properly in a cool environment or can only be used on the first day or night of a hike.
  • Soup – this is another classic choice for people going camping and comes in cans or in dried sachets. This is a good option because it is easy to cook with a number of vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and celery.
  • Pancakes – pancake mix is a great option because it is easy to carry and makes a quick snack or meal.
