The Caribbean is a wonderful place for sure, I absolutely love the lifestyle, beaches and weather. There really is no place quite like it in the world, so why not take a family holiday to one of the Caribbean islands? Here is my short guide to some of the best that the Caribbean islands have to offer.

Culture

One thing I appreciate about the Caribbean is definitely the culture, there is just a certain laid backness about it that you don’t find anywhere else in the world. The people are much more open, relaxed and less frantic with their time and that’s how it is with island life. Of course if where you lived was so beautiful, wouldn’t you be a bit slower and take some time to take it all in?

Food

Due to the colonial influence of the Caribbean the islands have a very interesting mix of cuisine that I really love. To me the best would have to be Jamaican food, especially with its spicy and extremely tasty dishes. I especially love patties and jerk chicken, but of course when you are in the Caribbean, anything with fish will be a very fresh and flavoursome.

Beaches

Another thing that I love is of course the most beautiful beaches that exist in this part of the world. The white sand beaches and the turquoise waters are just amazing and no amount of words in a blog post could accurately describe this, but try to picture the best beaches that you have ever seen before in your life.

Islands to visit

• Jamaica – a relaxed place with some of the best food imaginable. The people are famous for their accent and relaxed and easy going nature.
• The Bahamas – this is a place that just screams the best beaches in the world. There are many resorts here as a result and is a great place for a total relaxation.
• St Maarten – this is a place for the rich and the famous to hang out and enjoy the island life, with many of them flocking to this beautiful island each year. Of course you don’t have to be rich or famous to visit, but you might even be lucky and land yourself a spot at a celebrity party!
